Alternate plan options in Cerbo allow you to document various kinds of recommendations or treatment plan items beyond medications, orders, and vaccines. For example:
- Supplements that you prescribe/ recommend to patients
- Custom nutritional, exercise/ movement, or follow up recommendations
- Hormone pellets used in hormone replacement therapy
- Injections (other than those that would be documented as prescription meds)
- IV therapy
For more information on Alternate Plans items and categories, see Creating and Managing Alternate Plan Items.
General
Both prescription medications and supplements appear in a block on the patient's dashboard. These settings control how supplements are listed, and how supplements are handled in the context of Encounter Notes.
This setting is system-wide and cannot be overridden:
- Supplement free text note is
- Plain text
- Rich text (allows formatting like bold, colors, italics, and so on)
These appearance settings are system-wide but can be overridden per-location and per-user.
- Supplements in the patients Supplements block should be listed
- By date (reverse-chronological order based on expiration date, if specified, or by when they were added)
- Alphabetically
- By "class" (which can be manually defined for each supplement)
These system-wide behavior preferences can be overridden for individual EHR users:
- Allow editing of supplement recommendations added in an encounter note that has since been signed [Enable | Disable]
- When the patient's supplement list is pulled into the encounter note text using the [[pt_supplements]] text variable in a Chart Part, you can choose whether to include the following information:
- Patient instructions for each supplement [Include | Omit]
- Patient's free text supplement note [Include | Omit]
Custom "Alternate Plan" Recommendations
The system predefines several categories for alternative plans and lets you define new categories. You can add these categories to the Medications/Supplements block as tabs, and arrange the order and titles of the tabs.
This section lets you choose and arrange the tabs for alternate plan categories that appear in the Medications/Supplements block.
