The Charges-Added Check is a great report to use at the end of each day to double check that all patients were charged (and paid) correctly.

Details
The Charges-Added Check lists every patient who had an appointment and/ or an encounter note during the period that you specify. To the right of each patient's name (which links to their chart), you will see:
- Any appointment(s) scheduled for them during that period.
- Any encounter/ SOAP notes with a date of service in that period. There will be at least 2 rows in the SOAPs column that carries over into the following columns: one row to show Charges and Payments that were added outside of an encounter note (directly to the yellow Billing block), and then one row for each encounter note.
- Any charges dated in that period, which will be listed alongside the encounter note they were added in OR in the row for charges added outside of the encounter note for that patient, as applicable.
- Any payments dated in that period, which will be listed alongside the encounter note they were added to OR in the row for payments added outside of the encounter note for that patient, as applicable.
- The patient's balance for that period. Note: this could be different from their overall account balance.
If there is an encounter note but NO charges were added to that encounter note, that encounter note and the corresponding charges and payments cells will be highlighted in yellow.
If the entire row is highlighted, that indicates a patient who had an appointment scheduled in the reporting period, but did not have any encounter notes OR charges dated in that period.
So you can scan that report, looking specifically at any highlighted rows/ encounter notes to make sure those are not missing charges that should have been added. And look at the balances shown to make sure that charged amounts that should have been paid, were paid.
You can click on the patient's name in the left hand column to open their chart in a new tab. Or click on the encounter date/ title to open that encounter note in a new tab.
