Adding or Matching a Patient to Fullscript

To be able to recommend products (or labs) in Fullscript, you must first add the patient to Fullscript from Cerbo, or match them to an existing Fullscript profile. Note that:

  1. Patients must have a unique email address in Cerbo to be able to sync or match to Fullscript.
  2. Once a patient's Cerbo chart is linked to a Fullscript account, you can only make changes by unlinking and then re-adding or rematching. Please carefully review their details before adding (or matching) to Fullscript.

If the patient is not yet linked to Fullscript, you will be prompted to add them or match them to a Fullscript account when you first (1) route supplements to Fullscript, or (2) select to order labs via Fullscript for the first time from Cerbo.

  • Note that if you were prompted to add the patient in the course of routing supplements to Fullscript for that patient, adding the patient does not route the supplements but just closes that window. You will need to re-route the supplements to send them to Fullscript.

You can also manually sync a patient over to Fullscript by clicking on the Fullscript button at the top of the Supplements block in their chart.

The Add Patient in Fullscript screen will look different/ have different options depending on the circumstances:

  1. If the patient is not in Fullscript and their email address is unique in Cerbo, you will see the option to add as a new patient in Fullscript.
  2. If the patient is not yet in Fullscript, but shares an email address with another patient in Cerbo that is already in Fullscript: you will not have the option to match or add until you change the patient's email address to be unique.
  3. If the patient is already in Fullscript under a matching email, you will have the option to match to Fullscript patient
  4. If the patient appears to be in Fullscript under a matching name but under a different email address, you will have the option to match to an existing Fullscript patient or add as a new patient to Fullscript:

Once you click "Add" or "Match", you will be able to use the Fullscript integration for this patient.

Patient's Email Address Changes:

To change a patient's email address in Cerbo and Fullscript:
1) From patient's chart, click the Supplements tab in the red Medications and Supplements block. Then click Fullscript.

2) On the following screen there will be a button next to their email address that allows you to unlink their Fullscript profile. If you don't see this option please contact us at support@cer.bo.

3) Confirm in the pop up window that appears.

4) Then re-add the patient to Fullscript when next routing a supplement to Fullscript, or by clicking the blue Fullscript button again and matching to the patient with updated email address.

Viewing Fullscript Supplements in the Cerbo Chart, and Pulling info into Cerbo

If the patient has supplements that have previously been recommended directly in Fullscript (and are not reflected in their Cerbo chart), you can view those from their chart and pull them into their supplement list in Cerbo as desired.

  1. Click on the Fullscript button at the top of the supplements tab of the Medications/ Supplements block.
  2. The manage window will appear (the patient's list of Fullscript supplements may take a minute to load). You will see a few options for the patient's listed Fullscript supplements:
    1. If the product is not yet in Cerbo, you can click "Add to Alt Plan Database" to add it to your prescribable supplements list in Cerbo.
    2. If the product is already in Cerbo but not yet in this patient's supplement list, you can click on "Add to Patient's Chart" to add it.
    3. If the product is already in Cerbo and already in the patient's chart, you can click on the applicable link to view it in the chart and/ or the prescribable supplements list.

Ordering in Fullscript from Cerbo

There are two ways to order supplements in Fullscript from the patient's chart in Cerbo:

  1. Using the Fullscript plan building tool.
  2. By prescribing the supplements in the Cerbo chart, and then sending those to Fullscript.

You can also now order labs from Fullscript in Cerbo, but only via the Fullscript plan building tool. Labs added via that tool will appear in the patient's Open Orders block in Cerbo.

  • Note that, unlike other integrated labs, Fullscript-coded orders cannot be added in Cerbo and then routed to Fullscript or the lab. They should only be added within the Fullscript plan building tool in Cerbo.

Fullscript Plan Building Tool

Click for a walkthrough of the Fullscript Plan building tool (with a focus on the new lab ordering functionality).

Access the Fullscript plan builder tool by

  1. Clicking on the plus sign at the top right of the Supplements block in Cerbo, or Add Supplement in the encounter Plan box, and then on "Click here to use Fullscript's recommendation tool instead."
  2. Clicking to add an order in Cerbo, then clicking where indicated to order labs via Fullscript.

This will open up the Fullscript plan building tool, where you can apply pre-built Fullscript templates, access Fullscript resources, and search for and add individual products and/ or labs. In doing so, you will be able to view full product information and pricing.

In addition to products, you can now order labs via the Fullscript plan building tool! Labs are accessed:

  1. From the Review Plan step.
  2. By clicking on Labs in the lefthand navigation bar.
  3. Or by opening directly to labs from the Add Order window in Cerbo.

After selecting the ordering provider, you can choose commonly-ordered Fullscript labs, search, or apply custom templates/ panels that you've created to add those to the Fullscript plan.

Labs ordered in the Fullscript plan building tool will show in the patient's Open Orders block in Cerbo. If the order name exactly matches an order that's already in your Cerbo orderable labs list, then that pre-existing order will be what shows in the patient's chart. Otherwise, a new Fullscript-coded order will be added, shown with a Fullscript logo to indicate that it's a Fullscript lab.

  • Note that Fullscript-coded orders cannot be added in Cerbo and then routed to Fullscript or the lab. Rather, they should only be added in the Fullscript plan building tool that is accessed from the patient's chart in Cerbo.

A note about "In-office checkout":

If you select "In-office checkout" at the review screen in the Fullscript plan building tool, that will open your cart in a new browser tab. You may be prompted to login to your Fullscript account to proceed.

Adding Supplements in Cerbo and Sending to Fullscript

Supplements (but not labs) can alternately be added directly in Cerbo, and then routed to Fullscript.

To be prescribable in Cerbo, Fullscript supplements must first be added to the prescribable supplements list in Cerbo. For supplements that are in both Cerbo and Fullscript, you can match the Cerbo version to its Fullscript equivalent when you first send a prescription for that supplement to Fullscript from a patient's chart in Cerbo. For supplements that are in Fullscript, but not yet in your prescribable supplements list in Cerbo, you can add them to Cerbo via the following link:

https://[YOUR_CERBO_URL].md-hq.com/admin/tools/fullscript/import_fullscript.php

That link (with your Cerbo URL replacing the YOUR_CERBO_URL text) will open a tool where you can select a brand, and then import all of that brand's supplements or selected supplements from Fullscript to Cerbo. To avoid confusion and wasted time when searching in Cerbo, we recommend being selective with the supplements that you import from Fullscript and importing whole brands only for brands that you use heavily.

You can send supplement prescriptions/ orders that you have added to the patient's chart in Cerbo to Fullscript, either from the main chart view or, if the supplements were added via the encounter note plan, by hovering over the plus sign in the encounter Plan box.

From the Supplements tab of the Medications/ Supplements block in the patient's chart: check the boxes of the supplements you want to send to Fullscript, then select "Prescribe in Fullscript" from the Manage Checked drop-down menu.

From the encounter note Plan box: hover over the plus icon and select "Prescribe Sups in Fullscript."

This will bring up the Send Prescription in Fullscript window:

Provider Overview: select an ordering provider from the drop-down menu of Fullscript providers. You can add additional providers to these options by logging into your Fullscript account.

Supplement Overview:

  • Supplements that have already been matched to a Fullscript product will show along with a form to complete the order. The only required fields here are product variant and number of units
  • Any supplements that have not already been matched to a Fullscript product will not be included on the order unless you first match them by clicking on the corresponding "Click here to match..." link(s).

Match Cerbo Supplement to a Fullscript Product

You can use this window to search Fullscript's product database for matches. Not seeing any matches or seeing an error message? Try (1) removing any special character(s) in the supplement name in Cerbo (like a trademark symbol), if applicable, and/ or simplifying the search terms from the full supplement name in Cerbo that is auto-populated.

When you select a matching supplement and click the Match to Product button, the ordering window will be refreshed to include this supplement's product form and it will be included on the submitted order to Fullscript. Once a supplement in Cerbo is matched to a product in Fullscript, it is permanently mapped and should not need to be matched again in the future (unless Fullscript modifies the product information or discontinues that product, in which case you'll be able to un-match and re-match to an updated product listing).

What Happens when you Route to Fullscript?

When you route the supplement prescription/ order to Fullscript, the patient will receive an email from Fullscript letting them know to log in to Fullscript and complete their order. When they log into Fullscript, the supplements that you sent from Cerbo will be in their Fullscript account/ cart just as if you had added them directly via Fullscript's interface, and they would pay and check out there.
